"My Return To My Private Life"

Even though alot of you know me as a very outspoken, candid, sometimes funny person I have always been a pretty shy private person. I always protected my life not by emotional walls but by maintaing  a fairly private life. Not one to seek limelight, comfortable in my relationships with friends, and family, my life is full and rich in ways that I can not even begin to say.

Not long ago I decided to be less private, to expand my personal relationship horizons. This was done by Blogging, Facebook & Twitter. I have until recently enjoyed my new open life. I have been fortunate to meet some really amazing people, and to be the recipient of true altruistic encouragement and love. I will continue to be involved with the people who have befriended me and whom have excepted me, with no reservations or agendas into their lives. I am grateful and continue to have these amazing folks in my simple life.

The flip side of being less private is just that, as we know. Recently I have been hurt by a individual who has violated my personal life and has left me feeling isolated and alone. Being public allows people to be critical, I understand that but when a person is critical, and plain mean whilst being sweet to your face just enforces my ideas that privacy is good and puts me in a place whereas I must make difficult decisions.

This will be my last blog post and I will be taking my posts down in the next few days. I will also be altering the way I interact on Twitter and will stop following some folks & blocking others. I will also stop tweeting about my personal life in the public stream. It saddens me to do this as the experience up until now has been very positive, yet I must look out for what is best for me at this time in my life.

Remember folks that words in a unmoderated forum can hurt or push people away. That social media in it's form allows for one thing I cherish free speech, but that some speech is not always healthy to ones soul.

Friends in my final post I want to leave you with this... Love your friends, yourself, and be true to your convictions. Always follow your heart and your passions. Hug someone today, tell someone how special they are and finally do some random act of kindness. I still believe that people are in general good. We all seek the same core things, Love, Acceptance, Freedom, connection with others.

So "Good Bye" & "Be Well" I look forward to continuing my dialog with those i trust to do so with & to others I hope you find peace.

"Pimp My Badger!"

Hello everyone! As you may or may not know I have been single for a long time, and if i keep up this trend my next date may be with a octageneraian over strained peas while discussing adult diapers. So I am placing my dating life in my readers hands.

As we all know blogs are full of contests, and I am running one. No you will not win a toaster, or tickets to taping of " Hermaphidites Gone Wild". You could win Airfare to Playa Del Carman Mexico!!!!

I have your attention now I guess, because I cannot see you jumping up & down. So here it is:

Yes Readers I am asking you to pimp me out.. Tired as I am of dating sites, speed grazing dating and as I am useless in meeting ladies of questionable morals I am asking you to set me up. If it does develop into a relationship you and someone else will win airfare to mexico !

I am not looking for casual dating, I am over that. No this is not a search for wild monkey sex, but if I meet the right Lady yes that will happen. Nor will I serial date also not my thing. I am actually looking for match.

Do you know a nice girl who will "get me"? Someone who is kind, funny, open, smart, open, and will not run in fear from  the sight of me or be Traumatized by my humor  or secretly hates men. then send her my way. There is no expectation upon meeting anyone and it should be social in a natural setting.

You can e-mail me here

Why Haiti when I have Cancer?

A couple of friends were asking me why I would choose to delay my treatments to go and cover the devastation in Haiti after the earthquake today.

Funny is was a no brainer, I am a journalist I have always been a journalist I have covered 6 wars, and numerous natural disasters. I am not a hero, no not at all, i do not seek fame I am behind the camera. It is a dedication to helping people the best way I know, through the moving image. The best way to help Haiti or any other place that is in distress is to show it to the world. TV images can move people to act.

I am concerned with my health, yes but I will trade a few months off my life if i can do good somewhere else. I am single, no kids, little surviving family. My employer was not happy with me, but in the end they respected my decision. I am grateful to them for that. My job is important to me I believe in what I do, now is a time that I have to do it.

I am not seeking for anyone to give me props, yes my decision to do thing might impact my life. But the lives of others out weigh mine

A Field Guide to Vancouverites Part 1 "The Bitchanista"

The first species in my "Field Guide to Vancouverites" is "The Bitchanista" this variety of Vancouverite is  plentiful and we should put in place a hunting season to cull the herd.

Bitchanista: Genus homocuntis

Geography: Yaletown with some being spotted in Kitts, & and now infecting parts of gastown.

Identifying marks: the Bitchanista is often seen sporting ugg boots, big shinny knock off designer hand bags, small rat like k-9s seem to love to live off the bitchanista's like a furry tape worm. they usually are wearing too much makeup and are very skinny.

Behavior: The Bitchanista loves to shop and vocalize about the high end places they shop at all whilst working at La Sensa.. They are know for the repeated vocalization of "Like" . The Bitchanista is only attracted to men who are wealthy & vapid as actual personality frightens the Bitchanista. The Bitchanista tends to nest with others of the same genus in Yaletown condos that they cannot afford alone. These hives of Bitchanistas are called "Shallow Nests" where they can complement each other then vocalize about each other behind the other ones back. This is a important behavioral ritual in their culture. When exposed to books or culture the Bitchanista will start drooling, shake, and repeatably pet there k-9 parasite.

Diet: the Bitchanista rarely eats when she does it is not in public. Eating a whole pizza in her bathroom is not uncommon but mostly she lives of rice cakes and vitamin water.

Breeding: The Bitchanista only comes into heat after seeing  money or the promise of money. But feed her enough expensive cocktails at a foo foo lounge and she will mate with you once and only once.

Beware of her powers of tight yoga pants and over frosted lips she is not a dangerous species but she can dumb you down or steal your soul.....

Next entry will be the Main Street Beardos
